He has appeared on several occasions before the U.S. Supreme Court. Hoffman previously served as the Chair of the Board of Directors for Amnesty International USA and has served on the International Executive Committee for Amnesty International. He is the former legal director for the ACLU Foundation of Southern California. Hoffman has authored numerous publications, including International Human Rights Lawyering and International Human Rights Litigation in U.S. Courts
